In Santa Maria school on october 30th of 2014, the students of 7C were told by their english teacher, Juan David Piedrahíta, that they had to work on a school newspaper. They were very exited with the idea of the project.

First the class was divided into pairs, every group chose a problem that our country is currently facing. Students researched information about in different newspaper, as El Colombiano, El Tiempo, El Espectador, ADN and others. They wrote a letter to the people involved with the problem as Natalia Bello-Transport Minister, Margarita Quiros-fiscal, Marcela Castillo-lawyer, Andres Hernandez-Marketing cooperator and Juan Pablo Gnecco-surgeon. In the letter, they had to prepare an interview that was send to this people. It was really hard to get a reply. Some of the people who received the letter, did not read it, or just read it but did not reply.

Finally, when all the girls got the reply, they had to look for someone who was directly affected or related to their topic. The interview consist on ten "w" question: what, where, when, who, why. They arranged a date for interviewing these people. Juan David, corrected and graded them.

When the first part of this project was done, they started the second part. They did two drafts; the first one, consisted to organize the ideas, and the second one consisted on completing an organizing the final draft of the article. After they finished, they passed it to a computer. When the girls had printed with images, Juan David read in front of the whole class. He decided the order in which the articles would be in the final newspaper based on the quality in information in them. He divided the girls in specific departments, depending the talents of each one of the girls. There are seven departments; Editorial Department, Design Department, Marketing Department, I.T. Department, Communication Department,  Coordinating Department and Audio Visual Department. At the date they are working on this fabulous project.
